Family dentist Wayne Babin, DDS, provides care for a wide spectrum of patients in East Texas. He treats patients covered by public sector insurance plans and private charities. Dr. Babin serves youth from the Azleway Boys Ranch and children from the foster care system. Dr. Babin’s 30 years of experience in caring for families from all socioeconomic backgrounds led to his appointment by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to serve on the Medicaid & Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Regional Advisory Committee. He also served on the Advisory Committee for the Smith County Head Start program.

Wayne Babin, DDS, has delivered dental care to multiple generations of families. His family-centered approach encourages parents to become knowledgeable about dental health education. Trained in the sciences, Dr. Babin studied in the biology honors program at Millsap College in Jackson, Mississippi, where he earned a B.S. He next attended The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston.

A leader in his profession, Wayne Babin, DDS, holds memberships in several associations. He served as President for the local Smith County Dental Society. He also belongs to the East Texas Dental Society and the Texas Dental Association where he served on the Host Committee for one of its annual meetings. Dr. Babin’s national affiliations include the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Babin volunteers in various capacities in community service organizations. He donated dental care services to indigent children at clinics in Smith County. Based in Tyler, Texas, Dr. Babin participates in preservation activities of Historic Tyler and McClendon House, where he served on these organizations’ boards. A long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tyler, he has held the lay positions of Elder, Trustee, and Deacon. He and his wife of 31 years have three adult children and two grandchildren.
