Wayne Babin, DDS, Discusses the Texas Dental Association

Founded in 1871, the Texas Dental Association (TDA) consists of almost 7,700 members divided across four divisions in Texas. One of the nation’s largest and oldest dental bodies, the TDA receives governance from a 22-person Board of Directors and a 119-member House of Delegates. Its full-time staff aids it in its mission and publishes the Texas Dental Journal, America’s longest-running dental publication.

Dentists benefit from belonging to this group in several ways. Along with garnering access to networking events and continuing-education classes, they receive listing on the group’s website, which expands their marketing capabilities. Practitioners interested in pro bono work can join in one of its TDA Smiles Foundation initiatives. Additionally, the TDA Perks program offers discounts on office supplies, dental supplies, insurance, and car rentals.
